In the Harry Potter tales, owls are messengers. Don’t worry if you don’t know the Harry Potter stories, just think of what you know about owls. Haiku often focuses on nature. You might choose a tight focus on detail: an owl feather. Or you could begin with a big picture - an owl racing to deliver an urgent message. Write a haiku about owls -- and include Harry Potter and magic if you like, keeping it all to seventeen syllables. Remember - Traditional haiku consist of 17 syllables, in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables respectively. |
