Sponsor: World Poetry Movement

Free Entry: Entry is Free. There are no entry fees and no purchases of any kind required to enter and win the contest. This contest ends August 31, 2012.

Prizes:116 Prizes totaling over $10,000 will be awarded: a Grand Prize of $1,000.00, 40 First Prizes of Limited Edition 24 karat gold clad medals (retail value of $125 each) and 74 Second Prizes of Limited Edition silver clad medals (retail value of $60 each). We award additional prizes in case of ties. Winners will be announced October 1, 2012.

Winners agree that World Poetry Movement can use their poems, names, photos and likeness in their promotional materials.

Eligibility: This contest is open to all poets whether published or not, and regardless of experience. All poems received by World Poetry Movement, for all categories, are entered into the International Open Amateur Poetry Contest. All poems must be 34 lines or less. Only one entry per contest.  Contest ends August 31, 2012.

Decisions: Judges are members of the World Poetry Movement Selection Committee. Entries are judged on the basis of originality, creativity, imagination, characterization, artistic quality, and the adherence to line limits. All judges’ decisions are final.

Rights: All poems remain the property of the artist: By submitting a poem for this contest, the artist may also be eligible for the one-time publication of his or her poem by the World Poetry Movement in a hardbound volume and on the Internet. World Poetry Movement is under no obligation to publish every contest entry and can disqualify an entry at any time.

Winner’s Notification: All prize-winners will be notified by mail. Winners will be announced October 1, 2012.
